Senior Scouts Applets Awarding Ceremony of Troop No 10 of 1st Kandy Dharmaraja Scout Group

Senior Scouts Applets awarding ceremony of Troop No 10 scouts was held on 28^th january 2012 at the Lake View Park International Scouts Centre. 


21 former junior scouts who received their District Commissioners Award during the Scouts Parents and Old Scout Day held in last December received their Senior Scout Applets and invested as Senior Scouts.


Scout Leader of Troop No.10 Mr.Indrajith Mallawaarachchi, President of Old Rajans Scouts Association Mr. Suminda Vithanarachchi, Vice president Mr. Namal Palliyaguruge and Parents of Troop No 10 scouts were present at the event.

Representing Sri Lanka at the 18th Australian Rover moot

B.S.B Karunathilaka, Rover scout from 1^st Kandy Dharmaraja scout Group will be heading to Adelaide, Australia to participate at the 18^thAustralian National Rover Moot under the invitation of the Australian Scout Association commencing from the 26^th December 2010 to 12^th January 2011. He will be participating the event as the only Sri Lankan representative. He has won the Presidents Scout award in 2003 and the B.P award in 2006, becoming the only B.P Award winner in Sri Lanka in year 2006. He was also the team leader of the Himalayan expedition team 2007 which reached Mount Everest base camp (5360 m) and the summit of mount kalapathar (5545m) of the Himalayan range in Nepal.

Dharmaraja Scouts again won the All Island Merit Flag for the Best Scout Group - for year 2007

Its proud to say that 1st Kandy Dharmaraja Scout Group again become Best Scout Group; for year 2007 and won the All Island Merit Flag.

RANSAI 2008 – Scout Leadership and Adventure Program

RANSAI 2008 is the 6th International Scout Event which is organized by the 1st Kandy Dharmaraja Scout Group and the Old Rajans Scout Association to celebrate the 95th Anniversary of scouting at Dharmaraja College and the 30th Anniversary of Old Rajans Scout Association.

This will be the first ever fully sponsored scout event in Sri Lanka.

Annual Alms Giving To Commemorate College Founders Day

Annual Alms Giving organized by the Old Rajans Scout Association to Maha Sanga will be held in Asgiriya Maha Viharaya on 29th Sunday June 2008.

This holy event is organized to celebrate three main anniversaries this year.

* 121st anniversary of the college (Founders Day)
* 95th anniversary of the college scout group
* 30th anniversary of the Old Rajans Scout Association

Pritha & Dhana at Lake View Scouts Park

As per the tradition of the Rajans Scouts and the ORSA the annual Dhana and pirith has been planned to be held on this week end.

Pirith - 12th Evening at Lake View Park International Scouts Centre

Dhana - 13th at same venue

A committee meeting of the old scouts will also be held after the Dhana, in the evening.

12 & 13th January 2007

The Old Rajans Scout Association and 1st Kandy Dharmaraja Scout group will start their annual calendar with Pirith and Dhana ceremony at lake View Park International Scout centre.

The Prith Chanting will be on 12th Night and The Dhana will be on 13th morning.

Every one is welcome to participate.

Mr Sarath Matharaarachchi Appointed as Kandy District Scout Commissioner

The Sri Lanka Scout Association has appointed Mr Saratha Matarachi the Group Scout Leader of 1st Kandy Dharmaraja Scout Group as the Commissioner for Kandy District Scouts. He has held the position of Group Scout Leader of Dharmaraja scouts for more than 13 years.

Mr Sarath Mathaarachci is a proud Old Rajan and a well known Leader Trainer for training scout leaders in Sri Lanka. In addition he is the prefect of Games at Dharmaraja college who contributes to the betterment of Dharmaraja College sports.


We wish him all the success in his new office.
